  • American Red Cross

    Serve your local community as a member of the first nationwide university chapter of the American Red Cross. As a member, you will be matched with volunteer needs in your region as well as online opportunities in disaster relief, blood donations, emergency training and certification, and more.

    Autism Speaks U at Purdue Global is a registered chapter of Autism Speaks. Autism Speaks is dedicated to creating an inclusive world for all individuals with autism throughout their lifespan. The organization does this through advocacy, services, support, research and innovation, and advances in care for autistic individuals and their families.

  • Educators Club

    The Educators Club looks to provide resources to help educators encourage, create, support, and maintain engaged learning in the arts and sciences. We welcome present and future teachers from all educational settings.

    The Educators Club includes teachers and education-related majors from early childhood to college level.

  • Entrepreneurship Club

    This community’s purpose is to support the entrepreneurial spirit in all fields on a local, national, and global level. Students from all programs are welcome. Entrepreneurship Club is a chapter of the Collegiate Entrepreneurs Organization (CEO)®.

  • ESports Club

    ESports at Purdue Global connects players of League of Legends, Rocket League, Fortnite, Call of Duty, Apex Legends, Valorant, and more! Single-player gamers are also welcome.

  • Finance and Investment Club

    Finance and Investment Club is a community of students interested in financial and investment knowledge and best practices. Students from all programs are welcome.

  • Human Services Club

    Human Services Club looks to increase awareness of the field of human services and social issues impacting individuals and families, to determine ways to serve and help the communities that we all live in, and to gain exposure to the broader aspects of the field of human services through guest speakers and career information.

    Students enrolled in any program are welcome to join.

  • Law Society

    Purdue Global Law Society promotes understanding of key legal issues involving justice, public policy, and environmental law and policy. The community is committed to providing a forum for students interested in law-related fields to learn more through networking, community involvement, political involvement, and potential mentoring opportunities, while developing constructive communication skills.

  • Philosophy Society

    The purpose of this community is to create a space where members can engage in constructive and thoughtful discourse about different philosophical issues. Students from all programs are welcome.

  • Psychology Club

    Share the wonder and science of the study of the mind with others in an academically focused community of learners.

  • Science Club

    The Science Club aims to provide a place for students to develop a deeper understanding of all disciplines of science and their applications to our daily lives.

  • Student Military Association

    SMA seeks to create a community for students that provides the esprit de corps that they enjoyed in the military. The association is open to active-duty service members, prior military, and military spouses and dependents from all six branches of the United States Armed Forces.

    Student Military Association is an affiliated chapter of Student Veterans of America, a national veterans’ organization.

  • Writing Club

    Poets, playwrights, and novelists, you’ve found your home! Writers for all media are welcome in this community where students share their work for feedback and develop their skills. The community also delves into the publishing industry and explores how to share work on a wider platform.

Program Related/Professional Organizations and Clubs

These communities are directly related to programs of study at Purdue Global or are Purdue Global chapters of national professional organizations. Some require members to be enrolled in particular departments or programs. There may also be a fee for membership in the national organization.   • Business and Management Student Association (BAMSA)

    BAMSA is open to undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in any business or management program. This community provides an opportunity to connect with valuable resources, develop a professional network of peers, and acquire knowledge and skills to prepare students for a successful career.

  • Digital Authority of Technology Association (DATA)

    DATA is the umbrella for Purdue Global’s IT-related communities, which include:

    • Analytics Club, where students discuss all things data, big and small;
    • Cloud Club, for students interested in cloud-based computing solutions;
    • Cybersecurity Club, a community concerned with digital security threats; and
    • Women in Cybersecurity (WiCyS), a space to share experiences, challenges, and support.

    Students in IT and related programs of all levels are invited to participate in DATA. The community provides a structure for learning both outside and in the academic classroom. Activities are designed for students to gain new skills, study for certifications, and prepare for academic competitions, as well as the real-world scenarios they will face in their careers.

    Public Safety Club unites students in developing and maintaining a high standard of education and enhancing their understanding of the various aspects of public safety. The community aims to encourage, stimulate, and maintain excellence among students at Purdue Global in the field of public safety.

    The community provides networking, education, and employment opportunities, as well as stimulating discussions about current issues in the field. Students from any program related to public safety are welcome.

  • Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM)

    SHRM invites all students in a human resources-related field to join this student chapter. Members will have the option to become full student members of the national organization at a greatly discounted rate, but all are welcome to participate in the Purdue Global community for free.

  • Student Bar Association

    All students of Purdue Global Law School’s Juris Doctor and Executive Juris Doctor programs are members of the Student Bar Association (SBA), the student government organization of Purdue Global Law School. The executive board of SBA sponsors a variety of webinars and info sessions throughout the year to assist students and build community.

  • Supply Chain Club

    Love to talk logistics? Down for some distribution discussions? Students enrolled in any program are invited to join this group to learn more about the Supply Chain concentration. Students already in the program are also encouraged to join for to build relationships and find academic support.

Affinity and Identity Groups (AIGs)

Affinity and Identity Groups (AIGs) are communities based on a student’s identity or shared personal experience. These groups are designed to provide support, camaraderie, and resources for members.

AIGs are open to any student who has shared personal experience with the community or wishes to express allyship for that community. Students who are uncertain about whether they should join a community are encouraged to reach out to the faculty/staff advisor or Student Life for guidance.

Honor Societies

Student Life sponsors three types of honor societies: program related honor societies, affinity and identity related societies, and those that recognize general achievement.

Students are not free to join any honor society but rather must be invited to join based upon these eligibility factors. Eligibility is based upon criteria that may include academic achievement, program enrollment, or other factors. Invitations are issued biannually to eligible students via email. Eligibility factors and invitation schedules for each honor society are listed below, along with links to the affiliated national organizations for each society.

A Word About Honor Societies

At Purdue Global, we strive to partner only with reputable groups who offer programming, scholarships, networks, or other benefits that we believe are of value to our students. Only the honor societies listed below have an official relationship with Purdue Global and have been vetted for legitimacy and merit.

It is incumbent upon you, the student, to evaluate any honor society invitation for its value to your education and your career, and to balance that value with any financial investment. Virtually all honor societies require an initiation fee to become a member, but each society provides different levels of service and recognition for that fee. General Achievement

  • Alpha Sigma Lambda

    Alpha Sigma Lambda’s aim is to recognize the special achievements of adults who accomplish academic excellence while facing competing interests at home and work. It is dedicated to the advancement of scholarship and recognizes high scholastic achievement in an adult student’s career. ASL is recognized as the official honor society for adult learners by the Association of College Honor Societies.

    Eligibility:

    • Student members shall be active undergraduate Purdue Global students who are seeking associate or bachelor's degrees and meet the remaining criteria.
    • Associate degree students must have earned 12 or more credits at Purdue Global. Bachelor's degree students must have earned 24 or more credits at Purdue Global. Transfer credits do not count toward credits earned.
    • Students must be in the top 20% of their class and have earned a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher.
  • National Society of Collegiate Scholars

    The National Society of Collegiate Scholars seeks to honor and inspire academic excellence and engaged citizenship.

    Eligibility:

    • Active undergraduate status in any program
    • Student must have a minimum 3.4 cumulative grade point average
    • Student must have completed at least 12 credit hours but no more than 72 credit hours to receive an initial invitation
  • National Society of Leadership and Success

    The National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS) is the nation's largest accredited Honor Society. The mission of the organization is to build leaders who make a better world. The NSLS does this through engagement, community service, and teaching leadership skills. We want all students to feel a sense of belonging and connection to campus and to their classmates. In addition to the honorable distinction, the NSLS provides a step-by-step program for members to build their leadership skills through participation at Purdue Global.

    Eligibility:

    • Active undergraduate or graduate status in any program
    • Undergraduate students must have a minimum 2.8 cumulative grade point average; graduate students must have a 3.3 cumulative grade point average
    • Undergraduate students must have earned no less than 12 and no more than 150 credits to be eligible for the initial invitation; graduate students must have completed at least 26 credits
  • Phi Theta Kappa

    Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) recognizes the academic achievement of college students and provides opportunities for its members to grow as scholars and leaders.

    Eligibility:

    • Actively enrolled student who has completed at least 12 hours of coursework toward an associate’s or bachelor’s degree or at least 6 hours of coursework toward a certificate of 1 year at Purdue Global.*
    • Student must have a minimum of 3.5 grade point average

    *Current PTK members from Ivy Tech who transfer to Purdue Global can join the Purdue Global chapter by contacting studentlife@purdueglobal.edu.

Affinity and Identity

  • Alpha Alpha Alpha

    This honor society recognizes the academic achievements of first generation students at Purdue Global. First generation students are those who are the first member of their family to attend an institution of higher education.

    • Undergraduate status in an associate’s or baccalaureate program; graduate status in a master’s or doctoral program
    • Must have completed a minimum of 36 credits with one completed term at Purdue Global
    • Undergraduates must have a minimum 3.2 cumulative grade point average; graduate students must have a minimum 3.5 cumulative grade point average
    • Students should be the first member of their family to enroll in an institution of higher education.
  • SALUTE

    SALUTE stands for Service, Academics, Leadership, Unity, Tribute, and Excellence. The mission of SALUTE is to recognize the academic success of student veterans.

    • Undergraduate students must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 and 12 completed credits at Purdue Global

    Alpha Phi Sigma strives to promote analytical thinking, rigorous scholarship, and lifelong learning; to keep abreast of the advances in scientific research; to elevate the ethical standards of the criminal justice professions; and to sustain the benefit and necessity of education and professional training in the public mind.

    • Completed a minimum of four criminal justice courses
    • Undergraduate students must have a minimum 3.2 cumulative grade point average; graduate students must have a minimum 3.4 cumulative grade point average
  • Delta Mu Delta

    Delta Mu Delta is a business honor society that recognizes and encourages academic excellence of students to create a DMD community that fosters the well-being of its individual members and the business community through lifetime membership.

    • Active bachelor’s or master’s student in a business program
    • Bachelor’s students must have completed 75% of their program; master’s students must have completed 50% of their program
    • Students with transfer credit must have completed a minimum of 24 credit hours at Purdue Global
    • Bachelor’s students must have a minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA; master’s students must have a 3.6 cumulative GPA
  • Order of Sword & Shield

    The Order of the Sword & Shield National Honor Society is the largest and most respected organization representing the Homeland Security, Intelligence, Emergency Management, Cyber and Information Security, and all Protective Security disciplines. We are the only honor society to represent the complete homeland security mission, and have been universally recognized as the leading voice in academic and professional recognition in our emerging sectors.

  • Psi Chi

    Psi Chi International Honor Society in Psychology strives to produce a well-educated, ethical, and socially responsible member committed to contributing to the science and profession of psychology and to society in general.

    • Student must have completed a minimum of 14 credits
    • Student must be in top 35% of class
    • Undergraduates and graduates must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0
  • Sigma Theta Tau

    Sigma is an international community of nurses, dedicated to the advancement of knowledge, teaching, learning, and service through the cultivation of communities of practice, education, and research.

    Eligibility: Sigma Theta Tau is administered through the School of Nursing. The School of Nursing recruits students at designated times. Eligibility is determined based on GPA and progress in the nursing program. If you are eligible for Sigma, you will be contacted by the School of Nursing during the recruitment period and invited to join. Students are only inducted into Sigma during the School of Nursing’s recruitment periods.

  • Tau Upsilon Alpha

    Tau Upsilon Alpha Honor Society recognizes academic excellence; fosters lifelong learning, leadership and development; and promotes excellence in service to humanity.
